belated obligatory 2011 wrap up post
2011 could not have started any better for me. I was in the town square in Valencia, drinking 12 sips of cava and eating 12 grapes with each chime of the clock when it hit midnight. I spent the next month and a half in my favourite city with my favourite boy, until it was time to return to the land of the long white cloud.
The rest of the year has been a blur. I’m just going to bulletpoint it:
- nearly killed myself while finishing my degree
- I FINISHED MY DEGREE!!! (that deserves two bullets for sure)
- got my first part time design job
- got my second part time design job
- got my first full time design job
- got into more regular freelance work
- finally finished the LNK website and store
- released my screenprint collection
- won a few photog comps
- unfortunately, lost a very dear childhood friend :( RIP Aaron
- finally purchased an iPhone
- watched every season of The Office way too many times
- didn’t get to spend enough time with my family
- for the first time in the 5 years I’ve been here, Wellington finally feels like home
All in all, I’m going to put this year down as a success. LNK has grown beyond my wildest dreams and despite the fact I still get quite a bit of anon criticism, it’s boosted my confidence tenfold. I’m still loving my job, and I’m sure I’ll keep loving it this year. Which brings me to my resolutions for 2012:
- get fit (every says that one right?)
- release at least one more LNK collection
- stop shopping so much
- save save save save save
- take Spanish lessons
- complete everything on the to-do list sticky that sits on my desktop
- bake/cook more (it’s only Jan 5th and I’ve already baked 48 cupcakes this year.. so I’m off to a good start!)
- finish my portfolio website
- get back into photography and try book a few photog jobs (crossing my fingers for another wedding)
- try to not stress out this year (i have no excuse not to relax now that uni is finished)
- travel/move overseas (or at least have tickets booked to do so in 2013)
- and most importantly, try to just enjoy life and be happy :)
